13 April 2018, our Managing Director, Michael S Chia, was a speaker at a Book-Keeping for Law Practices Course organised by the Law Society of Singapore to help sole proprietors and employees of law practices with book-keeping responsibilities to gain a better understanding of book-keeping for law practices and pitfalls to avoid in book-keeping for law practices.

LAWYERS GO GLOBAL MISSION TO GUANGZHOU

8-12 April 2018, our Managing Director, Michael S Chia, was part of a 30-lawyer "Lawyers Go Global” mission to Guangzhou, organised by Ministry of Law , the Law Society of Singapore and International Enterprise Singapore, to expose Singapore legal expertise with opportunities in the Greater Bay Area of the Pearl River Delta and the One Belt One Road initiative.

“IT’S ALL ABOUT VALUE-ADD AND MULTIPLICATION”

23 March 2018, our Managing Director, Michael S Chia, discussed, at a Chit-Chat Session with small firm practitioners at the State Courts Bar Room, the idea of one's "Value-Add" and why it is important for lawyers to figure out what it is in order to thrive, whether as a small law firm business owner, an employer or an employee. He also talked about the need for small law firm business owners to consider the merits of not working as a lone ranger for longer term sustainability.

24 January 2018, our Managing Director, Michael S Chia, as co-chairman of the Law Society’s Small Law Firms Committee led the way in the Committee’s maiden Chit-Chat Session at the State Courts Bar Room with his talk “Why I Think Like a “Char Kway Teow” Man?" where he shared with a full house of fellow small firm practitioners the importance of seeing themselves as running businesses and acquire the necessary skill sets for it as well as how he tries to think like a businessman and why knowing his numbers is crucial in this regard.

LAW @CDC 2017

28 September 2017, our Director, Hany Soh, was a speaker in the The Law Awareness Week (LAW) @CDC, a collaboration between Law Society Pro Bono Services and the five Community Development Councils (CDCs), supported by the People's Association, National University of Singapore Faculty of Law and Singapore Management University School of Law. LAW @CDC is a nationwide effort to promote awareness and understanding of the law in the community through a series of talks, so that Singaporeans may know their rights and be empowered when faced with common legal issues. LAW @CDC 2017 was launched at SMU on 28 September 2017 and thereafter, decentralised legal talks were held nationwide across the 5 districts.
